Obama Calls Modi,Thanks Him For Strengthening Indo-US relations

WASHINGTON: Mr. Barack Obama, the outgoing President of America had telephoned PM Narendra Modi to thank him for enhancing joint relations between India and America.

On Wednesday, Obama had a deep conversation with Modi over the phone while thanking him for his cooperation in the core facets of defence, civil-nuclear energy, and for intensifying the social-people-to-people ties.

Obama had recalled his most remembered visit to India when he was invited as the chief guest to grace the occasion of India's Republic Day celebrations in 2015. Obama had wished PM Modi with warm regards on the 68th Republic Day anniversary.

Both the leaders had made parallel discussions on the shared economic, defence and security priorities of the twin nations.

President Obama was one of the first leaders to felicitate Modi immediately after his electoral victory in May 2014. He had even invited Modi to visit US and be his guest at the White House.

In September 2014, Narendra Modi had paid his diplomatic visit to White House that had lead to the establishment of an enduring relationship with each other.

Prime Minister Modi had appreciated President Obama for his superlative moral values and impeccable leadership style.
