PV Sindhu loses to Carolina Marin

HYDERABAD: Carolina Marin fought off a spirited challenge from PV Sindhu in the Premier Badminton League 2017 blockbuster opener to take the first match 11-8, 12-14, 11-2 giving Hyderabad Hunters a 1-0 lead over Chennai Smashers.
Marin did not let India's favourite Sindhu any leeway in the third game after losing the second with her sizzling stamina.
SINDHU-MARIN IN A CLASH:
Marin with her mettle and iron had disallowed Sindhu to steal the first game. The Spaniard was down 2-4 at one stage, but improved unanimously making 6-4.
Sindhu did a tough battle back to back making 6-6 after the break. Marin never let her contender lead the game leafing 8-6, 9-7 and 10-7 before Sindhu got an extra point.
Marin was however not a kind of player who would let go her victory off her hands. She snatched the game effortlessly yielding to 11-8 score.
Marin took a 3-0 lead while making couple of errors that got Sindhu back to 2-3.
Some sensational drop shots from Marin had led Sindhua to harvest plus point at the net to drag it back to 5-5. She pulled her third point in a row to crack into the mid-game break leading 6-5.
Two slips from Sindhu had sent Marin back to 7-7. Marin raced further in the ring to a 4-0 lead in the third, including a 52-shot fight.
Sindhu looked completely devastated losing her heat while Marin had conquered the game with 6-1 lead.
