Of all the students attended for CAT 2016, twenty male candidates have succeeded in scoring the top 100 percentile, according to the results that were announced on the Monday morning.
According to the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore all the 20 toppers who scored 100 percentile in the CAT 2016 are male candidates and all are engineers. As per the updated information, among the 20 top scorers included are Avidipto Chokroborty, who is a former student at BITS Pilani and Yash Chaudhari from Pune. Another student in the top scorers is Akshay Mehndiratta from IIT Delhi. Of the 20 top scorers, two among them are faculties at top coaching institutes. The details of the other top scorers in the CAT 2016 are yet to be announced.
The Convener of the CAT 2016 exam, Professor Rajendra K Bandi told, “However, in the Sectionals, many non-engineers and female candidates has scored 100 percentile.”
The CAT 2016 exam which was conducted on 4 December, 2016, was attended by 1.95 lakh candidates, across 138 cities in the country. On 9 January 2017, Monday, all the candidates have been informed individually of their results through sending text messages to their mobile phones. Even as, the overall pass percentile was announced on the CAT website also, which is www.iimcat.ac.in.
The convener Bandi thanked the support of chairpersons of all the IIMs in India, and the committee of the CAT exam, by saying that, "The untiring support of the CAT Committee, comprising admissions chairpersons of IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta, IIM Indore, IIM Kozhikode and IIM Lucknow, and the tremendous hard work by the CAT 2016 Secretariat at IIM Bangalore played a big role in enabling us to declare the results on schedule.”
The shortlisted candidates list for the personal interviews will be announced by IIM Bangalore on its website on Monday evening, 9 January, 2017.
