A few days back, Shah Rukh Khan met Shiv Sena's leader and promised that he would not cast any Pakistani actors in his future movies. Even the party president decided not to disturb the release of Raees.
Now, the latest is that a distributor claimed receiving threat letter from Shiv Sena’s Chhattisgarh wing over the release of Raees movie which has Pakistani actress Mahira Khan.
Raees which was directed by Rahul Dholakia is slated to hit the screens on January 25.
The distributor Akshay Rathi tagged Shiv Sena President Uddhav Thackeray’s son and Yuva Sena chief Aditya Thackeray and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh on Twitter and posted an image of the letter, which was written in Devanagiri.
He shared a couple of posts saying that: "Dear Aditya Thackeray, we have received this threat letter from your Chhattisgarh unit against playing Shah Rukh Khan's 'Raees'. Do you endorse it?
"Dear Raman Singh and Abhishek Singh, please look into this to let law and order prevail in Chhattisgarh. 'Raees'."
"Request all Shah Rukh Khan Fans to help me bring this to the notice of Aditya Thackeray. I'm sure he will take action against this nuisance. 'Raees'," he wrote.
When he was contacted, Delhi-based distributor Joginder Mahajan, he said none of the distributors from this region got such a letter so far.
