BANGALORE: Flipkart, the country's highly regarded Internet Company has announced about the handing over of its reins to a stalwart professional named as Kalyan Krishnamurthy.


Krishnamurthy is resumed as the new CEO of the largest online retailer headquartered in Bangalore. He will dominate his responsibilities to administer Flipkart's profit and losses.

Krishnamurthy, a former eBay employee had teamed with Tiger Global Management in 2011 with the capacities of the MD till December 2016. Earlier, he had headed Flipkart’s finance and category management functions amidst 2013-2014. He will now command the board of Flipkart's holding company registered in Singapore.


Tiger Global is the largest investor that owns 35% stake in Flipkart. According to the annual report the firm was last valued at $15 billion that is likely to foray into public listing in the coming years.

Binni Bansal has his focus set on constructing the portfolios and IPO’s of the high-growth businesses groups.  


Binny has officially indicated to his staff via email about the reorganisation of his management on Monday.

Binny is escalated to a newer position as the group CEO to take the charge of the Flipkart, fashion portals Myntra-Jabong and the payments business PhonePe.

Ananth Narayanan, CEO of fashion unit Myntra-Jabong and Sameer NigamCEO of PhonePe will be reporting to Binny Bansal.

Sachin Bansal is restores as the executive chairman in the group. He would jointly work with Binny to oversee the major SBU’s including fintech, B2B Services, private brands, and logistics.

Nishanth Verman is assigned to take the responsibility as the head of corporate development.

The Heads Seth, Ravi Garikapati and CFO V. Sriram, will now report to Krishnamurthy.

Saikiran Krishnamurthy, Ekart CEO will obtain a new role to synchronize directly with Binni
