Balakrishna’s prestigious 100th film Gautamiputra Satakarni directed by Krish has hit the marquee today. Since its launch, it has carried a positive talk and let’s check the content and performance of the film.
The main story is about Gautamiputra Satakarni, the king of Satavahana dynasty in India. Satakarni is known for great victories over many countries but director Krish has focused on his two victories over Greeks who invaded India during ancient days. His style of reigning, command and courage has been elevated very well on the big screen.
Nandamuri Balakrishna’s performance as Satakarni is splendid and mesmerizing. His look and ferocious countenance is top notch. Dialogues are another major asset for the film as he delivered with perfect timing and sense.
Shriya is impressive and did her best as Vasistha Devi. She looks good and suits the role. Hema Malini is really well in supporting role and essayed a perfect character which is vital in Satakarni.
Everyone feels that story should have been narrated in a detailed manner as it looks non-detailed since it is a historical film and people are not so familiar with his time and ruling. Krish, who tried his best to establish Satakarni’s character, missed out this point and some scenes are so dull and failed to reach the expectations of the audiences. However, it is a good film during this festival season for fans and general audiences.
Gautamiputra Satakarni should be appreciated for its high-end technical values. Production design department has put great efforts to bring a quality look and feel for the movie. Especially dialogues of Sai Madhav Burra are remembered for a long time in Tollywood. Chittaranjan Bhatt’s music is okay but his background score is good enough to carry the tempo of Satakarni. Krish did a fabulous job for making this grand success.
Gautamiputra Satakarni is a right recipe for film buffs during this Sankranthi
