IPL 2017: Delhi Daredevil Report Card Review, Capital Defeat
By Mehnaz : 09-May-2017
The most mysterious team in 2017 IPLs has fallen badly on the edge. Delhi Daredevils gave in a few great performances in this 10th IPL tournament, but unfortunately for the team, they could not be successful at large. The incredible players of the capital team had got almost of what it required to reach the final knockout levels in the Indian Premier League season 10. But the little bit lack of consistency ultimately cost them a huge price to acquire a place in the play-offs.
Delhi Daredevils had moved wildly enough from one side to the other. One evening they got to chase 208 runs against Gujarat Lions with 2.3 overs to spare, with the aid of Rishab Pant and Sanju Samson who had set the stadium on fire. However, the very next match against Mumbai Indians they were released for 66 runs in 13.4 overs, both Pant and Samson were ducked out.
It could be said that Delhi Daredevils felt the absence of the key foreign batsman from the top order, like David Warner, AB de Villiers or Hashim Amla. Anyhow the young Indian batsmen were not less to outperform their skills on the grounds. Zaheer Khan haplessly was not the inspiring of the skippers, due to his injury. But the other captains were equally good. Karun Nair also suffered in comparison to the other team masters. Overall it's sad to know that Delhi Daredevil could not match up to the competition. Anyways it's all part and parcel of the game which includes both wins and losses.
