Jammu-Srinagar Highway Resumes After Three Days Lock Down

SRINAGAR: The gates at the Jammu-Srinagar super highway are finally opened on Monday after witnessing a change in the chilly environmental conditions in Kashmir Valley.
The traffic department said that after three days of blockade, the heavy and the light vehicle transportation was allowed to bi-pass across the Srinagar and Jammu broadways.
Along with the Railway services, the Air traffic was also rehabilitated between the valley in effect from Sunday morning.
The meteorological department informed about the formidable improvement in the weather conditions but is likely to see chilly winds and snow cladding the mountain ranges in the valley.
The minimum temperature recorded in Srinagar was minus 2.3 degrees Celsius on Monday with a max of 3 degree on Sunday.
In the region of Pahalgam, the minimum scale of temperature documented was minus 9.2 degrees Celsius.
The Gulmarg was tracked with a minus 12.4 degrees Celsius.
The University of Kashmir had terminated all exams scheduled for Monday and Tuesday due to biting cold conditions.
