A newborn baby girl who was snatched from the hospital in Jacksonville, Florida in the year 1998, was now after 18 years found safe as a woman, reported the Florida police authorities on Friday.
The kidnapper woman from South Carolina, who snatched the victim woman of the kidnapping from the hospital newborn baby ward 18 years ago, was reportedly taken into custody by the police officers.
Named as Kamiyah Mobley, the kidnapped woman victim, now aged 18, is found to be in good health and normal condition, reported the Jacksonville Sheriff Mike Williams said at a news conference, who confirmed her identity as the snatched newborn baby girl 18 years ago, in the DNA testing.
Sheriff Williams also said, “This young woman was abducted as a newborn, and she is going to need time and assistance to process all this. She is taking it as well as you can imagine.”
Mobley was living with the kidnapped mother under a different name processed through fraudulent documents, the authorities said, and also added that they were able to find Mobley through tips they received of the missing person from National Centre for Missing and Exploited Children.
The Sheriff said in a statement that, “She had an inclination beginning probably a couple of months ago that she may have been involved in this in some way.”
In order to find out the information on what has happened 18 years ago when Mobley was snatched from the hospital, the police said, they have been cross referencing several reports and questioning several people and are trying to paint a picture of what has happened.
“We are speaking to as many people as we can to try to paint a picture of what may have happened 18 years ago. Lots of questions left unanswered,” the sheriff said.
