Mobikwik launches app in 5 regional languages

Mobikwik, mobile wallet company, as a measure to increase the accessibility of its app, now made it available in 5 regional languages, other than English. The 5 new regional languages that the app is now available are Bengali, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu.
Company says this step will help in increasing the customers’ base for the app, as more and more number of consumers will find it useful and feel comfortable in operating the app in their own language. And so, customers who are unfamiliar with English language can also start using this app easily, as the app is now available in their native language. Until now, the app is available in Hindi and Gujarati, in addition to English. So, now the app availability is increased to 8 languages including English.
The co founder of the company, Upasana Taku opined that since most of the Indians like to converse and operate in their own native language, in order to meet the needs of those people, the company has taken this decision of increasing the accessibility of the app in other native languages.
In a press release, she stated that, “Indians prefer conversing in their native languages than English. Following this insight, we have launched further regional versions of our app today in Bengali, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil and Telugu. We are certain that this move will further promote the adoption of digital wallet payments in rural India.”
She further stated that, this app not only helps in benefitting the company, but also for the country in promoting the adoption of digital wallet payments system in the rural areas of the country.
The retailer base of the mobile wallet app, Mobikwik include some of the major players such as, Amul, Big Bazaar, Croma, Pantaloons and others. In addition, the app also offers payments at pan India toll plazas, IRCTC, major gas companies and petrol pumps across India.
