NEW DELHI: The Pakistan government has uncovered the final judgement on Kulbhushan Jadhav on the venue and time that Indians had done, at 2 pm on April 10, 2017. Meanwhile, Sushma Swaraj the foreign minister’s diplomatic ties with Pakistan had gone down to a few levels.
The entire defence litigation against Jadhav was kept far out of reach from the non-combatant authorities. It was only read out as a declaration by Sartaj Aziz, the counsellor on foreign affairs to the Pakistani PM Nawaz Sharif and hardly gave any details. However, Aziz, the advisor solely played as the messenger of the army.
On the other hand, the subtle kinship between the two nations has seriously submerged ever since Pakistan scornfully disdained India on the Pathankot attack. The appointment of the new army chief in Rawalpindi did bring in a little relief to India, with the mutual exchange of the prisoners in the previous weeks. But the Jadhav Verdict came out of nowhere to leave behind unanswered questions about the time, intent and directions of the Indo-Pak relations.
The picture of nailing an Indian Spy was always an attraction to the Pakistan forces. Despite the contradictions in the case by the Indian government about the detective travelling with his original documents from his home country. The Indian officials were confident that Jadhav was abducted from Iran and passed on to the ISI. As a result, there remains a notion that India still has a former ISI agent in confinement who was arrested in Nepal under the suspected role of Jadhav's capture from Iran last year.
