CHENNAI: A legal petition has been filed in the Supreme Court with an intention to form Sasikala government in the state at the earliest.
Vidyasagar Rao had continued to remain silence over the political tussle between the former acting chief minister Panneerselvam and Sasikala. Vidyasagar Rao, the Governor of the state is currently waiting for the SCs verdict on the disproportionate assets case charged against Sasikala.
Sasikala was accused of possessing few assets, particularly Pose Garden that was inherited by Jayalalithaa, the late chief minister of Tamil Nadu.
There had been an escalated evidence of rivalry between Panneerselvam and Sasikala taking the chief ministry. The CM's position had been left in a vacuum since the demise of the former CM who had died of acute respiratory disorder and cardiac arrest a few months ago.
Sasikala, the AIADMK General Secretary had called a media conference in Jayalalithaa’s Poes Garden to discuss significant issues.
She had told to the journalist about the political controversies and conflicts that were likely to emerge between her and Panneerselvam after the demise of the veteran leader and friend.
On Monday, Sasikala had chaired a high-profile meeting with her party leaders who would visit President Pranab Mukherjee for encouraging him to intervene in this matter. As the governor of the state is unavailable, the meeting is likely to be held immediately after he returns. The AIADMK leaders will demonstrate their favoritism towards Sasikala and advice the center to consider her for the position of the chief minister of Tamil Nadu.
