CHENNAI: O Panneerselvam who had been the custodian of Jayalalitha’s AIADMK party was dramatically expelled from the position of the acting Chief Minister and the treasurer by none other than the AIADMK general secretary Sasikala Natarajan. Dindigul C Srinivasan has been appointed as the new treasurer of the party.
Panneerselvam after paying his secret tribute to Jayalalithaa’s Samadhi in the memorial had said: ‘Amma wanted me to be the chief minister. I have performed my duty and followed the path shown by her.’
Panneerselvam had said that he may drift himself back from the resignation along with the support of his party workers and fight ahead for his rights.
However, Sasikala Natarajan had defended herself by stating that she was not responsible in the retrenchment of Panneerselvam, rather he himself had his hand in the DMK.
Sasikala had leveled her way that would take her to becoming the legislative party head of AIADMK. After the big move, Sasikala had called a contingent meeting at Poes Garden residence and headed a rally along with the 131 of the 134 AIADMK MLAs that supported her.
