Pokemon Go is an addictive location-based augmented reality game developed by Niantic, Inc. for ios and Android devices. Although the game has released in the International market much before, the developers took five months of time to resolve some technical issues in the software, before delivering the game to Indian fans.
Niantic, Inc. collaborated with Reliance Jio to open thousands of Pokemon Gyms or PokeStops at the Reliance Digital stores, so that the Indians can get the best of both worlds. Users require a Smartphone with features like camera, internet connection and GPS to play Pokemon Go.
John Hanke, CEO, and founder of Niantic reportedly said that, the company was delighted to partner with Jio, to launch Pokémon GO in India. It is exciting to see Pokémon fans in India, to step out and explore their neighborhoods in search of Pokémon. He added that, Jio’s disruptive high-speed 4G LTE Network will be an excellent way to experience the game.
Mathew Oommen, President of Reliance Jio, reportedly said that Pokemon Go has over 500 million downloads globally and Jio partnership with Niantic, Inc. not only brings access to the Pokémon Go app, but also opens the door to more opportunities for the Indian customers, to enjoy content on Jio’s mobile broadband network.
Earlier the company has come up with a compelling deal and made millions of Indians to buy the Jio Sims, now with this move Reliance Jio clearly aims to increase its subscribers.
