LUCKNOW:  Gayatri Prajapati the ex-minister of Samajwadi Party was finally jailed for being allegedly involved in a serious crime of gang-raping young mother and her minor daughter in 2014. The other 3 offenders, Rupesh, Amrinder, and Vikas who were involved in the rape case had been fooling the police department for 17 days with their hide and seek play-offs. However, all the accused of the heinous crime were eventually landed with a non-bailable arrest warrant by the UP police.

The DGP, Javeed Ahmed had stated about the challenges that his unit had to undertake while searching Gayatri Prajapati and the others who had disappeared from Lucknow as soon as the legal warrant was issued against them. While exploring Prajapati, the police had even questioned his sons about their missing father. The Police officials had withheld the passport of the minister so as to stop him from fleeing the country.
