Good news for all the employees of India now one can extract fast cash from their provident fund savings to pay hospital bills. The labour ministry has issued an important notification on April 25th, 2017 in order to make the withdrawals of PF savings an easy affair for the EPF subscribers. Previously the workers had to submit they employer's approval or a doctor's certificate in order to get money for the medical purposes. However this time there is no such need of any agreement or authorization, one can simply provide a self- declared form to the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO).

The EPFO central provident fund commissioner V.P. Joy said that the people can redeem their accumulated salaries up to 6 months in cases of 1 month of hospitalisation. Further adding to his statement that any individual going through a major surgical operation or ailments like tuberculosis, leprosy, paralysis, cancer and heart sicknesses are eligible for this scheme.
