WhatsApp stops functioning in Older Versions of Smartphones

WHATSAPP GETS NONFUNCTIONAL WITH OLDER HANSETS:
The messenger app has stopped working on smartphone including Nokia Symbian S60, Windows Phone 7, older versions of Android 2.2 Froyo, iPhone 3GS, iOS 6 and lower versions iOS.
WhatsApp, the Facebook-owned conglomerate has recommended its chat savvy customers with older handsets to shop for a newer phone or upgrade their OS.
WHATSAPP TO EXTEND SUPPORT FROM PHONE MAKERS:
While in a blog WhatsApp mentioned that it is extending support for BlackBerry 10, Nokia S40, BlackBerry OS and Nokia Symbian S60.
Earlier November last year, the company had given its users a sparse time until June 30, 2017.
MARKET SHARE FOR THE OLDER HANDSETS NARROWED:
The market intake has diminished to 2.6 percent for devices running iOS 6.
iPhone 3GS is a 7-year-old veteran instrument would not support WhatsApp.
The changes are arguably largely to allow WhatsApp to more deeply integrate encryption and other privacy services.
WHATSAPP CRITICIZED BY THE GOVERNMENT:
The newer technology stops messages from being read openly there by providing confidentiality of the information to the users
However, WhatsApp is driving extreme criticism from government bodies who are in favour of making chat and conversations public.
