Demonetisation: Urjit Patel Saved By Manmohan From Panel Grilling

Thanks to the intervention of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, RBI Governor Urjit Patel is saved from possible grilling before the House Panel with the odd questions being posed by the members of the panel, regarding demonetisation.
The panel members met here today to discuss about the demonetisation move taken by the government and the central bank and the impact of such a move on the economy, with the RBI governor Urjit patel, lead to a possible grilling situation for the governor.
According to the sources in the committee, RBI Governor Urjit Patel and other officials from RBI and finance ministry are present here today before the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Finance, is faced with some tough odd questions from the members of the House Panel, while discussing about the demonetisation move taken by the government and the central bank of India.
The former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who is also once an RBI governor has advised Urjit Patel to not to get suffocated by taking in such odd questions during such a meet and also directed the members of the House Panel to not to pose such odd questions to person of such position.
He further said that, the RBI is a pinnacle institution in the country, and the chief of such institution should be dealt with respect and said that it is wise to avoid posing a person of such stance should be deal with respect, advised Manmohan to the members of the House Panel.
Manmohan Singh, who has given a forceful speech against the demonetisation move taken by the government and called its implementation a monumental management failure, has said that central bank and the Governor’s position in such an institution should be respected.
